This learning event is for Adult, Child, and Infant CPR certification. This is designed to help individuals recognize and respond to an emergency and demonstrate the three emergency action steps. Proper CPR techniques will be demonstrated during the training event. Participants will also be able to identify signals of a breathing emergency. The instructors will assess knowledge gained through guided video skill practice and instructor feedback. Feedback on outcome mastery will be provided throughout the session and during the evaluation process.

In this (In-Person) training, we will explore literacy skill building activities throughout the daily schedule and in each of the learning centers. Participants will also concentrate on storytime techniques to ensure learning is taking place beyond the book in classrooms of Twos and up.

The environment a teacher creates, paired with her knowledge of the children in her care, can prevent many challenging behaviors in young children. Teachers who create positive social environments find that children more easily develop the social-emotional skills they need to succeed. This session focuses on modifications teachers can make in six key areas of the environment that will prevent and reduce conflict that leads to challenging behaviors.

This training will introduce participants to the document North Carolina Foundations for Early Learning and Development. Participants will use the book to learn about the standards, how they are structured, and how to implement them in early childhood settings. Participants will construct the knowledge base necessary to use the standards in supporting children in their learning and development by embedding the standards in daily classroom planning and practice. ( 2-night training)

Dates: April 16th & April 23rd (Must attend both nights to receive credit hours)

Join us for a VIRTUAL sexual abuse prevention training program that educates staff/volunteers to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

Connections Matter is a community-based initiative that emphasizes the profound impact of connections on brain growth and individual abilities to cope and thrive. It educates the public on the intersection of topics such as Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma, brain development, and resilience. The initiative aims to promote the building of more resilient, compassionate, and trauma-informed communities, allowing all children and individuals to succeed.

Why do some children come to depend on challenging behaviors while others discover better, more effective ways to get what they want? Generally, children use negative behavior when they lack the skills that would help them meet their needs. Teachers who take time to assess the reason for misbehavior are better able to teach children new social-emotional skills. This session focuses on the common reasons that children misbehave, a crucial first step in determining how to prevent/reduce challenging behaviors.
