Basic School Age Care

Basic School Age Care (BSAC) is a 5-hour introductory level training event for school age care professionals that are new to the field. This training is required by the NC DCDEE for school age care professionals working in licensed programs, but is a great training for new staff in any afterschool program setting. This training will take place on April 9th and 11th from 6:30 pm-9:00 pm.
Supporting Children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders
Fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) are a range of effects that can occur due to prenatal alcohol exposure. FASD can include physical, mental, behavioral, and/or learning disabilities with lifelong implications. This interactive virtual session will help participants understand the impact of prenatal alcohol exposure on the developing brain, how FASD may present in an individual across the lifespan, an overview of support strategies, as well as recognizing the role we all play in preventing alcohol exposed pregnancies and FASD.
